If the description of BAL and its capabilities is attractive to you, there is a fairly straightforward process to be followed in getting started. A dialogue is started between the client and the BAL company executive responsible for the designated subject area that will fully digest the client’s goals, objectives and capabilities. The dialogue continues until both the client and BAL executive are certain that a common understanding of the issue has been reached. BAL will provide the potential client a proposal, which describes the BAL team, the incremental tasks of the project and the schedule. Then progress reviews are held to ensure the quality of the product and that the client’s expectations are met. BAL maintains a permanent library and research capability as well as a robust production staff to insure first-rate products for each client. In some cases BAL will provide dedicated, long-term support to a client or to a special product of a client.

BAL is flexible in its means of compensation for its clients. The primary casting model is built on a fixed fee and expenses for the level of expertise required (Team Leader, Senior Associate, Associate, etc.). BAL also frequently enters into fixed price contracts where the entire project can be accurately forecast. Finally, BAL will consider long term (Retainer) arrangements where the full range of BAL’s capabilities will be needed over time. All of these options are fully discussed during initial dialogue and are detailed in the proposal.
