Presentations may be tailored to meet the needs of your organization. Defense and Industry New Directions (A Look Inside the Pentagon)Defense and Industry New Directions (A Look Inside the Pentagon) This presentation assesses the U.S. military’s potential future in the upcoming year. It summarizes the current national perspective, analyzes each Services' vision/budget/programs/ issues and problems, reviews future technological possibilities, and discusses the “so what” to industry of a variety of key issues. Appropriate for senior and upper mid-range leaders as either an “off-site think piece,” or as a lead presentation for business plan deliberations, it is updated every quarter and tailored for a specific organizational focus. A panel of senior retired officers may be provided to facilitate, discuss or answer questions. The presentation takes is three hours in length.The Leader-Manager Course Manager CourseThis is a five-day course presented by a combined team of Burdeshaw Associates and professors from the University of Virginia Business School. Its purpose is to prepare new Program Managers to run their initial defense program. The program includes leadership concepts and practices, the language and tools unique to defense, a review of the relevant current rules, regulations and procedures, and a number of case studies tailored to specific client organizational focus. The course is targeted to specific audiences, but is enriched when the potential leaders of the students are able to participate (at least in the case studies).Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS)Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) This is a presentation designed to explain details of the new requirements and acquisition system, as well as how industry can best “play” in it. It provides vocabulary, system explanation, assessment of system maturation, and a discussion of industry points of contact and activities. The presentation lasts approximately 1-1/2 hours as a stand- alone, but can be followed by a facilitated discussion, or by a question & answer period moderated by a senior retired officer panel.How to Optimize Trade Shows and ConventionsIndustry expends considerable time and resources on trade shows and conventions sponsored by a variety of defense related associations. BAL has specific analysis and planning techniques that industry can use to optimize its benefit from participating in these events. This presentation analyzes the venue and opportunities associated with various trade shows/conventions, and recommends contractor or vendor strategies to maximize the return on investment from booths, displays, meetings, and presentations to both government and industry participants. This is a half to full-day presentation and planning exercise designed to focus on the specific interests or needs of clients.Advisory BoardsBAL has more than seven hundred associates from which to draw advisory board members. For a number of clients we have provided a long-term, full-service advisory board process including minutes, reports, presentations, etc. BAL provides the talent and the administration.
